Perfect Girl by Tracy Banghart

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a YA thriller with plenty of twists and jump scares to get your blood pumping. The author does a great job setting up a dark, creepy setting that will keep you holding your breath and jumping at every new twist. The night started off-kilter with the tension between the friends and just got worse after that. There are plenty of icky characters to dislike, which always makes a book fun. Who doesn’t love hoping the icky person gets their comeuppance?

The Side Project by Laurel Osterkamp

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a great story about family, secrets, friendships, and second chances. The main characters have gone through a lot in the past and have their walls up. After joining together to be partners for their writing class, which they keep secret from Rylee’s best friend and Carson’s sister, they embark on a secret “no-strings attached” fling meant to last just until their class ends. The couple has a lot of chemistry so it’s no surprised that things get complicated when they develop real feelings for each other.

This is a good second-chance, enemies-to-lovers, and one and only contemporary romance set in a small town. The book has funny group texts amongst siblings as well as a lot of sensitive topics, self-doubt, and heartache. It will have your emotions all over the place.

Right Number (Getting it Right #1) by Ella Sparkle

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I’m a sucker for books that includes text conversations between the main characters, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. It is such a cute closed door romance I found myself smiling the whole time I read it. Anna is a college Junior Art student on the east coast and is having a horrible, terrible day. That is, until she gets a text from Mason. He’s on the west coast and is looking for a woman named Susan he recently met at a bar to ask her out for a drink. Anna tells him he’s got the wrong number, but instead of that being the end of that, they keep texting each other. Their conversation continues until a sweet friendship begins.

Pucking Only (Night Hawks Hockey Series Book 2) by Katie Strong

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Apparently I am in my hockey sports romance era, because that seems to be all I’m reading lately – and I’m not mad at it. Of course, it helps that I seem to be signing up for a lot of hockey romance book tours….but I digress.

This book is great. It has all the fun tropes I love – enemies-to-lovers, best friend’s brother, hockey, steamy scenes, tight white t-shirts and GREY SWEATPANTS. I mean, seriously? What more do I need to say?
