The Love Plot by Samantha Young

Rating: 4 out of 5.

4.5 stars

This book was a delight to read and I absolutely loved it! I could not stop reading and read it in one sitting. Now I’m bummed, because I would love to go back and read it again for the first time. Fake dating is my favorite romcom trope, so this book was *chef’s kiss*. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but now I can’t wait to go back and read her previous works.

What Would Jane Austen Do by Linda Corbett

It is a truth universally acknowledged that two hundred year old Jane Austen quotes and advice is timeless and no less relevant today. This is an adorable contemporary romantic comedy about love, community, and finding lost family history. Maddy Shaw is a Jane Austen fan and journalist that wrote a column called Dear Jane dispensing advice with a Jane Austen spin. She was unceremoniously fired by email and left with no job and no way to pay rent on her London flatshare.

Pieces and Parts (A Storyhill Musicians Novel) by Annmarie Boyle

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a sweet, funny, warm and fluffy contemporary romance about a single dad and traveling musician and the woman he hires to teach and care for his 8 year old son that wants to go on tour with him. This is book four of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the previous books but found enough background in the story to not feel lost. That said, I enjoyed this book so much I’ll be going back and reading the first three.
