This was an interesting contemporary paranormal fantasy. Persephone May is an orphan and has been alone her whole life. She wants nothing more than to belong somewhere, but whenever she tries to forge bonds with other people, unexplainable things happen and she finds herself moving on again.

This is a soapy contemporary mystery/thriller set in an exclusive, wealthy neighborhood in the Bay Area. Mystery writer Brooke is married to Jack, her older billionaire tech mogul husband. He is overly protective of Brooke and very private. Brooke is very submissive and pretty much does everything Jack tells her to do to keep up appearances of their “perfect” marriage.

This is another cute, sweet book in the Dove Pond series. In this story, Ava Dove, 6th of 7 Dove daughters and owner of a landscaping and gourmet tea business is suffering trouble with three teas she made for her regular customers, just before the grand opening of her new tea shop. Frantic to solve the problem, and with growing blows to her reputation and canceled orders, Ava isolates herself and scrambles to fix the problem.

This was a good, quick Mystery/Thriller read. Alice and Leo move into a house in a gated community called The Circle. They think they’ve moved into the home of their dreams, but Alice quickly realizes that’s not the case. Two years before, therapist Nina was killed in the house, allegedly by her husband. Alice starts digging into the murder, convinced the husband didn’t kill his wife.

It seems weird to say that I thoroughly enjoyed a book about people planning their suicide, but the book is so charming, heartfelt and well-written that I have no choice. Mark, age 30 and a failed writer, buys an old bus, hires a young army vet as the driver and hides an ad in the personals inviting people to come with him on a country-wide road trip to San Francisco, where they will find a beautiful cliff, drive off the edge and end their life, and their pain, together.

This is a sweet Contemporary Fiction/Mystery that is a quick and easy read. Amy Ashton once dreamed of becoming an artist but after she suffered a terrible betrayal that she refuses to think about, she withdraws from the world and collects pretty things. Lots of pretty things. Her house is overflowing with pretty things, and Amy now loves pretty things instead of people because they won’t leave her.

Through flashbacks that explain the love story, and heartbreak, of their parent’s relationship, the readers get a glimpse into the chaotic, secretive life of Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit.
