A Lady Would Know Better by Emma Theriault

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This book is a sweet historical fiction romance. A young woman has an accident on property owned by the Earl of Belhaven (Jasper) and upon awakening she can’t remember her name or anything about her life. Needing to call her something, they give her the name “Jane”. The Earl’s family takes it upon themselves to care for her during her recovery and help her try to regain her memories.

Witty in Pink by Erica George

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This is a cute historical fiction romance with a tenacious FMC and an honorable but conflicted MMC. The main characters, Blythe and Briggs, have been frenemies since they were small children. Blythe had a crush on Briggs, and when they were teenagers Briggs played a practical joke on Blythe, humiliating her and cementing their rivalry.

Trouble by Lex Croucher

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This was a fun historical romance with a lot of diverse characters. Emily’s sister Amy is sick and they don’t have money for a doctor. So, Emily poses as Amy and takes Amy’s new position as a governess at Fairmont House. But Emily isn’t like Amy. She’s not polite, she’s not polished, and she has never taught a child in her life. She is, however, determined to make this job last long enough to get a few paychecks, and maybe a few trinkets to pawn, so Amy can get the treatment she needs.

To Woo and To Wed (The Regency Vows #5) by Martha Waters

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a fun, flirty and fulfilling finale to a wonderful Regency RomCom series – although, I’m very sad to say goodbye to it. While this is the last book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone.

This book has my favorite romance trope – fake dating – as well as second chance love. West, the Marquess of Weston, and Sophie, Lady Fitzwilliam Bridewell were nearly engaged years ago until West was in a terrible accident leaving his best friend dead and West with an injured leg. Years later, Sophie enlists West in a scheme to pretend to be engaged so that her sisters will feel free to marry. Neither counted on old feelings rising to the surface.

To Swoon and To Spar (The Regency Vows, #4) by Martha Waters

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute, flirty historical fiction romance set in Regency England. This is book 4 in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. There is enough back story to give you context regarding the side characters that support the main characters and story.

Something in the Heir by Suzanne Enoch

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This was a cute historical fiction/romance with a good touch of humor. Set in Regency era England, the story follows the exploits of Emmeline and William Pershing who have enjoyed a perfectly convenient marriage for eight years. More business partners than husband and wife, Will married Emmeline to help her keep her childhood home, and in turn, Emmeline helped Will advance his career with the government. It is all threatened when the couple are invited to Emmeline’s grandfather’s house for his birthday party. The home came with a caveat: Emmeline and Will must have children within the first five years of their marriage or they forfeit the place. While the couple’s few attempts to conceive came to nothing, Emmeline did not let that deter her. She created two imaginary children for the couple and has been lying to her family for the past eight years.

Never Fall for Your Fiancée (The Merriwell Sisters #1) by Virginia Heath

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute, entertaining Historical Fiction Romance set in 1825 England. Earl Hugh Standish has so far avoided his mother’s matchmaking schemes. For the last two years he invented a fiancée to keep his mother at bay – and in America. With his mother due back in England in the next few weeks to meet his bride-to-be, Hugh is about to be found out. Hugh doesn’t want to disappoint his mother, but more importantly, he doesn’t want to get caught in a lie. He just needs to get someone to impersonate his intended to satisfy his mother, and then she will sail back to America happy and Hugh will still be free. Maybe. If it works. Which is doubtful.

When a Duke Loves a Governess (Unlikely Duchesses, #3) by Olivia Drake

Rating: 3 out of 5.

3.5 stars

This was a cute historical regency romance about Tessa, a young woman who yearns to open her own millinery shop. When Tessa’s mother dies during an accident, she gives her a locket with a coat or arms on it that presumably belonged to her father. Tessa plans to find her father and ask him to loan her enough money to open her own shop. Not having access to seeing the coat of arms of the nobility, she lies about her background and takes a job as governess to the troubled four year old daughter of the new Duke of Carlin in hopes that she will discover her father with her new access to the ton.

Hit Me With Your Best Scot (Wild Wicked Highlanders #3) by Suzanne Enoch

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a fun and flirty historical romance set in Victorian London. This is the third book in the series. I haven’t read the first two, but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this book.
