The Duchess Hunt (Once Upon a Dukedom #2) by Lorraine Heath

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute, flirty Historical Fiction romance that is a fun and easy read. The Duke of Kingsland needs to get married and produce and heir and a spare to secure his title. Determined that he is incapable of love and will only hurt his future wife, he places an ad asking eligible ladies to apply to be his bride. Not wanting to be bothered with selecting a winner, he assigns the task to his efficient, capable and devoted secretary, Penelope Pettypeace.

The Bronzed Beasts (The Gilded Wolves, #3) by Roshani Chokshi

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This is the last book in an entertaining YA Fantasy series. Séverin and the team are separated by Séverin’s apparent betrayal. All he can hope is that they got his message and are racing through Venice to help implement his plan to find the temple where the Divine Lyre can be played and his dreams finally achieved. But first Séverin must deal with the deranged head of the Fallen House and the team must deal with a laundry list of obstacles, including those within themselves. Oh, and Laila only has 10 days to live…

All of Us Villains (All of Us Villains #1) by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This is an ok YA Fantasy book that pits seven teenagers from powerful magical families in a three-month long champion tournament to win control over a wellspring of high magick. The type of magick the world thought was long gone. Until now, the tournament has been a centuries old secret, but the publishing of a tell-all book about it has garnered world-wide attention. The town is flooded with curious spectators and the champions are provided with new information that may help them win.

Never Fall for Your Fiancée (The Merriwell Sisters #1) by Virginia Heath

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute, entertaining Historical Fiction Romance set in 1825 England. Earl Hugh Standish has so far avoided his mother’s matchmaking schemes. For the last two years he invented a fiancée to keep his mother at bay – and in America. With his mother due back in England in the next few weeks to meet his bride-to-be, Hugh is about to be found out. Hugh doesn’t want to disappoint his mother, but more importantly, he doesn’t want to get caught in a lie. He just needs to get someone to impersonate his intended to satisfy his mother, and then she will sail back to America happy and Hugh will still be free. Maybe. If it works. Which is doubtful.

Little Thieves (Little Thieves, #1) by Margaret Owen

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a good YAFantasy retelling of The Goose Girl. I had never heard of this fairytale, so I went in with no preconceived notions about the story. It took me awhile to get into the book, but once I did, I really enjoyed it.

When a Duke Loves a Governess (Unlikely Duchesses, #3) by Olivia Drake

Rating: 3 out of 5.

3.5 stars

This was a cute historical regency romance about Tessa, a young woman who yearns to open her own millinery shop. When Tessa’s mother dies during an accident, she gives her a locket with a coat or arms on it that presumably belonged to her father. Tessa plans to find her father and ask him to loan her enough money to open her own shop. Not having access to seeing the coat of arms of the nobility, she lies about her background and takes a job as governess to the troubled four year old daughter of the new Duke of Carlin in hopes that she will discover her father with her new access to the ton.
