Pucking Enemies (Night Hawks Hockey Series Book 5) by Katie Strong

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Book 5 of this series features photographer Rylee and NHL player Zander. They have a rocky first meet, a less than stellar second meet, and a scorching hot third meet. Too bad Rylee doesn’t seem to remember any of them. Rylee is a photographer for a sports magazine. She lives in Nashville but is assigned to feature the Stanley Cup winning Night Hawks in Denver. She’s friends with the wives of a couple players and is offered an apartment in Denver to stay at during her assignment. Problem is, Zander’s building is undergoing renovations and he’s got to move out during it. He’s offered the same apartment until the repairs are done. The couple’s fourth meeting is the most awkward of all.

Bananapants by Penny Reid

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This book is set in the Knitting in the City/Winston Brother’s universe and follows the story of two adult children of some of the original MCs in the previous book series. I listened to the audio of this book and the narrators did a great job. Ava is a tax attorney and misses her childhood best friend, who just disappeared from her life, leaving her heartbroken. Des is a professional thief and after having a huge blowout with his father, hasn’t been back to Chicago in 10 years. The only reason he’s back is to help a friend that was swindled. He needs to break into an elite secret society to take back what was stolen. Who need he’d run into Ava during one of his operations.

Wanting the Winger (Love on the Line, #2) by Brenda Rothert

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is book 2 in the Love on the Line series but can be read as a standalone. This time NHL winger Bash finds love with Lainey, the little sister of his childhood best friend. She’s moving to Cleveland to work on a 4 month research project and he offers her his home to live in while she’s there. Lainey had a huge crush on Bash when she was younger (he’s 4 years older than her). When she was 17 and he was 21 and already in the NHL she asked him to take her to her prom. He naturally said no and her heart broke. Now Lainey is engaged to marry Shane, a worthless POS not worthy of her. Bash has no trouble reminding Lainey every chance he gets that he’s not worthy of her. He thinks he’s being a good friend. Until he can’t deny he’s actually got feelings for her. Now, just to make her believe his feelings are real.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Saint is the hockey bad boy of Orleans campus. He hits ’em and quits ’em, never kissing, cuddling, spending the night, or sleeping with the same girl twice. His life is hard and complicated and his sole focus is protecting his mother and making it to the NHL to give them both a better life. This is a fun and flirty hockey rom com that will have you feeling all the feels. It’s book 4 in the Love and Hockey series, but can be read as a stand alone. Reality hits the next day when they discover that Leighton’s father is Miles’ coach, who Miles greatly respects. Rating: 4 out of 5.
