This was a quick, fun read. Set in 1800s London, Camille Iverness works in a curiosity shop owned by her father. They specialize in rare artifacts. Camille’s father’s business dealings are questionable, at best. When a large ruby goes missing, a man comes to the shop and threatens Camille.
Meanwhile, in a small town outside of London Jonathon Gilchrist is heir to the family’s estate, but the theft of the ruby threatens to ruin their family and they will lose it all. Camille and Jonathon’s paths cross in the mystery of the missing ruby. The writing was pleasant and the story light and fun. Apparently this is one of a series of books, but since the ending of this book tied everything up fairly well, not really sure where the story would go afterwards.
