This was an interesting re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. With Dragons. And gryphons. And direwolves. What?! Weird as it sounds, it works pretty well. The book is a fun, fluffy escape and a quick read. Anyone that enjoys P&P and Fantasy will enjoy it.
They say a Rider in possession of a good blade must be in want of a monster to slay—and Merybourne Manor has plenty of monsters.
Aliza Bentaine has lost a younger sister to a horde of gryphons. As a result, Lord Merybourne hires a group of Riders to hunt down the gryphons. Included in the group is a haughty and handsome dragonrider named Alistair Diared. In true P&P fashion, Aliza and Daired immediately clash. One of Aliza’s sister falls for another handsome and roughish rider, another yearns for adventure and the youngest sister just wants to be left with her books.
As the Riders rid Lord Merybourne’s land of the gryphon horde, a more dangerous and older evil threatens the safety of the entire kingdom. Aliza must contend with her complicated feelings for Alistair, as well as try to keep her friends and family safe.
This is an entertaining read and I recommend you spend a few hours getting lost in a unique re-telling of Pride & Prejudice.
