4.5
This is the second book in the series and it is just as unique and good as the first book. The story is also told in a series of diary entries, emails, instant messages, surveillance footage summaries, and amazing illustrations. This book is just as large as the first book, but it’s a very quick, engrossing read.
This story takes place at the same time as the first book, except that it tells the story of what is happening at space station Heimdall, which is where the wormhole is located. The story centers on two main characters, Hannah, the space station captain’s daughter and Nik, the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. Unbeknownst to them, the Hypatia is headed toward Heimdall with news of the invasion of Kerenza by Beitech.
But Beitech has no intention of Hypatia making it through the wormhole. It sends a band of mercenaries to Heimdall to invade the station, take control of the wormhole and allow a fleet of drones through to blow up the Hyptaia, and then everyone on Kerenza. The one thing Beitech didn’t count on, however was Hannah, Nik and Nik’s hacker cousin Ella fighting back to protect their home.
There is plenty of laughs, action and suspense to keep the reader engaged. The story ends on a great cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see how it all ends!
