This was a quick, warm and fuzzy book about second chances and small towns.
This was our December book club choice. It’s a typical Fanny Flagg book, full of oddball characters and small town charm. It’s set in a small town, about a down on his luck man from Chicago that is given months to live unless he moves South to help clear up his lungs. He finds a small town, Lost River, Alabama, that takes him in and makes him one of the community, whether he wants to or not. When a small, shy girl begins to hang around the town store, the town spurs to action to give her the support and love she needs.
If you’re looking for a short, sweet uplifting book, this is the one for you.
