This is a cute contemporary romance involving a famous actress and the bodyguard hired to protect her. Courtney is married to an A-list actor who publicly dumps her for a younger woman. She flees her movie premiere and finds herself in the woods at her bodyguard, Damien’s, cabin. The paparazzi are trying to find her, so her management team suggests she hide out there until they can plan a way to deal with them.

Damien is trying to build a retreat to help people that are going through difficult times, but he can’t find anyone to back his plan. The program combines the skills he learned in the military and the techniques he learned through his own counseling. He asks Courtney if she would like to try his program while she hides out at his place, and she agrees. Slowly Courtney grows stronger and more confidant, and her relationship with Damien deepens.

This was a fun story to read. The book is well-written and is a quick and easy read. I liked both characters and enjoyed reading Courtney’s progress through Damien’s program. The couple had great chemistry and the book got steamier toward the end. Damien is definitely a great book boyfriend to swoon about.
