This is the fourth book in a spicy hockey rom com series, but can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read the other books and didn’t feel too lost. This book focuses on the romance between Tweety and Tedi, a couple that had been together but broke up a few years ago. Tedi is the head of a team that manages social media accounts for the hockey league and is sent to Chicago to manage the accounts of the Falcons, where her ex Tweety plays. They agree that their relationship will stay strictly business, but of course, that never works. Tedi even goes so far as to get a fake boyfriend (an MLB player that is her brother’s best friend), but those never work in the end.

The couple never got over each other despite trying. Their past relationship is told through a series of diary entries. Their break up left them both devastated and they never got over each other or had another significant relationship. Both through themselves into their jobs, but once they see each other again, they realize how empty their lives have been. I loved the found family aspect of the book and how the teammates look out for each other. There are definitely some funny moments in the book that help break up the tension of the couple’s will they or won’t they relationship. Tedi’s work forces her to interact with Tweety more than she wants to, and eventually the couple realize that their feelings are just as strong as they had been. It took them a very long time in the book to get together, but the passion was still there and they finally get their HEA.

I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Valentine PR. All opinions are my own.
