This is book 3 in the Rosewood River series and features NHL player Clark and physical therapist (and the coach’s daughter) Eloise. Clark injured his knee in the last game of the Stanley Cup playoffs, but he scored the winning goal and is a champion. He’s gone back to his small hometown to recuperate and the team decided to send their new PT to help him recover. She’s the coach’s daughter, has just finished her advance degrees, and it’s her first job with the team. She’s smart, dedicated and determined to help Clark heal, despite her distaste for the egomaniac ladies man player.

But not all is as it seems and when he turns out to actually be a nice guy who works had without complaint and is dedicated to recuperating his knee however she sees fit to train him, her respect for him grows. They even develop a friendship….and then more. I loved that Clark took Eloise’s job seriously and followed her instructions. He gave her credit for knowing what she’s doing, even if he’s rehabbed himself in the past. I liked how Eloise was able to not take herself too seriously all the time and loosen up when Clark teased her. Their banter was very cute and I loved’ Clark’s nickname for her.

I don’t like keeping relationships secret, especially when a quick visit to HR would clear it all up, and feel that it’s a trope that’s been overused a lot. But, there are other reasons for keeping a lid on the relationship, so I get it. It was cute to see Clark get jealous of other guys – especially since he acted like an adult about it rather than a hothead. I loved Eloise’s relationship with Clark’s family and the girl group they formed was everything. The Clark family text chain is hilarious. I could read those texts forever. Next up -I look forward to seeing how Bridger finds his HEA.

I was provided a complimentary ecopy of the book from Valentine PR. All opinions are my own.
