This is a sweet enemies to lovers contemporary sports romance that is book 3 in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. Sierra is an elite pairs figure skater that suffered a horrific on-ice accident and is left broken, both mentally and physically. Her body is finally healed, but her PTSD makes it hard for her to get back on the ice and train for the new competition season. Dylan is a cocky hockey player that parties hard and has a playboy reputation. His antics catch up to him and he’s suspended from the hockey team, and his future in the NHL is in jeopardy.

Dylan lives for being on the ice, so when he’s told that he may get back on the hockey team if he partners with Sierra to get her ready for competition, he jumps at the chance. Too bad Sierra wants nothing to do with him. But, even her icy exterior can’t hide her attraction to Dylan and the sparks fly. Dylan is instantly under Sierra’s spell and is determined to help her push through her fear and anxiety and get her confidence back. And if she falls in love with him in the process, well, what’s a boy to do!

Dylan hides his soft squishy side to everyone except his closest friends and is so supportive and understanding with Sierra it will melt your heart. He’s every broken girls dream guy. Dylan has his own issues but he tamps those down and focuses on Sierra. Those things have a way of surfacing though, often at the worst times. It was great to see Sierra give that support back to Dylan to help him deal with his family troubles. The couple’s friend group provides levity to the story and it’s great to see them come together and call each of them on their BS when they try to deny their feelings for each other.

Although predictable, the epilogue provides a satisfying ending to the story. This is the perfect book to curl up with a cup of tea and a blanket for an afternoon.
