I love this hockey romance series, and Aiden and Morgan’s story is another great addition to this funny, flirty, and steamy series. What started out as a one-night fling in Bermuda gets complicated when the duo discover they are new step-siblings. Thinking they will never see each other again, but secretly hoping they would, both are shocked when they walk into their jobs and find the other there. Despite their vow to be professional, they can’t deny the attraction and decide to have a secret friends-with-benefits arrangement. No feelings, no commitment. Like that ever works.
Morgan is a strong, independent woman that knows her own mind but has bad taste in men. I liked that she allows herself to be vulnerable with Aiden. Aiden’s history sees people always leaving him, so he never allows himself to get close. But he can’t do that with Morgan and I loved that he didn’t try too hard to fight his feelings of wanting to be close to Morgan. Their banter is cute and their flirting = couple’s goals. I loved the found family that surrounds the couple and the fact that they think they can fool their close friends is adorable.
Despite being book 5 in the series it can be read as a standalone. There is plenty of backstory to not feel lost. This is one of the better hockey romance series out there, so if you’re already a fan of the genre, read this one. If you’re thinking of trying it, this is a great series to start your journey. It’s currently available for free on Kindle Unlimited.
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Valentine PR and the author. All opinions are my own.
