Hold Me Tight (Chicago Railers Hockey #2) by Jennifer Sucevic

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This is a very sweet hockey romance about a hot hockey player that has been yearning for a player’s ex-girlfriend for years and her reluctance to trust again. Callie’s bakery is in the verge of bankruptcy and her rent just went up. River finally sees his chance to go for Callie and her sweet daughter Nora, and he’s decided to shoot his shot. He offers to let her live with him, but she must sleep in his bed – just sleep, for now. Callie reluctantly agrees, thinking it’s the only way to stay afloat until she figures things out, which she always does.

If You Claim Me (Toronto Terror, #5) by Helena Hunting

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I love the Toronto Terror book series and the found family it’s created. This is book 5 in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Mildred (Dred to her friends) is so strong I instantly loved her. She has a lot of past trauma but she actively works to not let it affect her life. Connor is so broken and misunderstood my heart melted every time someone put him down and he had to act like it didn’t affect him. Being a grumpy jerk is his defense mechanism, but his mask slips when he’s with Dred. I loved that she saw right through his act to the man beneath and gave him comfort and support.

Book 5 of this series features photographer Rylee and NHL player Zander. They have a rocky first meet, a less than stellar second meet, and a scorching hot third meet. Too bad Rylee doesn’t seem to remember any of them. Rylee is a photographer for a sports magazine. She lives in Nashville but is assigned to feature the Stanley Cup winning Night Hawks in Denver.
