Wedding Games (Kinloch #5) by Evie Alexander

This is such an awesome, fun novella that I didn’t want it to end! I loved reading about the characters from all of the Kinloch series books again and when they all get together, shenanigans definitely occur. I actually laughed out loud several times, especially while reading the antics of Zoe’s mom and her best friend Morag. They cracked me up and are totally people I’d love to have a drink, or ten, with. LOL The days leading up to Zoe and Rory’s wedding at the castle were frantic and tense, especially when Zoe and Rory’s mothers – who have been enemies since high school – are in the same room. Hide the glassware – these ladies aren’t afraid to get physical! But after all is said and done, we still get our HEA and an epilogue to tell us what happens after the big day. What more could we want? (Well, I personally want more Kinloch adventures!!!)

I’ll Be There For You by Brieanna Wilkoff

I loved this book and read it in one sitting. The growth of Rae throughout the book was wonderful to read. She went from grief-stricken and alone to hopeful and outgoing. The friendship with fellow theater-lover Mac was beautiful. I remember being in high school and having that one best friend that just “got” me. Someone you could trust with all of your troubles, fears and hopes with and know that they would always be there to support you. I loved re-living those wonderful memories as I read this book.

This was a contemporary fiction novel set in England that follows the crumbling of Alexandra Small’s life as she goes through a very public divorce from her famous footballer husband. Alexandra works at a firm handling public relation problems for high profile clients. She and her husband are going through fertility treatments to start a family. We quickly discover that Alexandra’s husband is a bit more invested in starting a family that she is, and he dismisses any hesitation she expresses. We discover that he’s cheating on Alexandra when it’s splashed across the front pages of the tabloids. She moves out of their luxury apartment and into the cramped quarters of one of her best friends and her best friend’s child.

This is an interesting Mystery/Thriller . Tamsyn & Ed barely make a living. They live in a cramped camper van with their teenage daughter Scarlett. They jump at the chance of a new life & are whisked away to Geneva where they are set up with everything they need to live a comfortable life. Better yet, the AI replacement, Sophie, looks & acts just like Scarlett before she changed into a hostile moody teenager. All three became successful but troubled adults and had no contact with each other until someone started trying to kill them. They eventually get together to solve the mystery, causing them to re-live some of the trauma they endured growing up.

What the heck did I just read??? I finished the book a few days ago and had to just sit with it for awhile before I could write my review. The book is a a fascinating mystery/thriller/romance that I couldn’t stop reading it.

Sissy is one of a set of identical triplets. They were abandoned when they were newborns and lived their youth in separate foster homes until they aged out. Fiercely protective of each other, once they were free of the system they were determined to never be separated again. No matter what. When Iris is hurt by her boyfriend and kills him in a fit of rage, Sissy steps in to clean up the scene and the triplets’ plan to love men and leave them….dead, is born.
