This is another great book in this series. Inspector Gamache is just settling into his job as the head of the police department when he discovers that they have lost the war on drugs. Huge cartels are funneling vast quantities of drugs into Canada and the U.S. and the various crimes that flow from the drug traffic has increased. Gamache is at a lost on how to stop it, until he develops a bold plan that will have huge consequences whether he wins of fails. The book opens with a woman (Laura Pace) that has amnesia and is being held captive by a man that claims to be her boyfriend. She eventually regains her memories and escapes her captor, only to discover she is a wanted fugitive that has been set up for a double homicide. This is another fun book in the Aurora Teagarden book series. In this book, Aurora has just given birth to daughter Sophie. She and Aubrey are settling into the routine of new parents when the body of a murdered woman is found in their backyard. Once again, the couple is embroiled in a crazy mystery that they can’t help but try to solve themselves.

As usual, the book is a quick, fun, effortless read. It has humor and enough twists to keep the reader engaged to the end.
