This is a sweet historical fiction romance set in Regency England. Adeline moves to her father’s country home after he dies and her despicable half-brother inherits their father’s title. Adeline’s mother was from the Middle East and was not accepted by the ton, and Adeline is not accepted much either. Daniel is the Duke of Warwick and has retreated to his country estate to work on his inventions. When the duo meet-cute courtesy of Adeline’s pet pig, it starts them on the path of a fake courtship for the remainder of the Season; Adeline to avoid a forced marriage by her half-brother, and Daniel to escape his matchmaking godmother and finish his work.

This is a sweet historical fiction romance set in medieval Scotland. This is book 4 in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. This book focuses on the youngest brother, Bas Sinclair, dubbed the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Death. Not only a fierce warrior, he is the executioner of the clan’s Justice. He dreads his job but does his duty. However, the way all but his family fear and avoid him weighs heavily on him. He’s resigned himself to lead a lonely, solitary life, until one day Shana falls into his life. Literally.

They are the young wives, widows, and daughters of London’s wealthiest families. The drama is big, the money runs deep, and the shade is real. Life is different in the ton.

Rebuilding Alexandra Small by Mo Fanning

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This was a contemporary fiction novel set in England that follows the crumbling of Alexandra Small’s life as she goes through a very public divorce from her famous footballer husband. Alexandra works at a firm handling public relation problems for high profile clients. She and her husband are going through fertility treatments to start a family. We quickly discover that Alexandra’s husband is a bit more invested in starting a family that she is, and he dismisses any hesitation she expresses. We discover that he’s cheating on Alexandra when it’s splashed across the front pages of the tabloids. She moves out of their luxury apartment and into the cramped quarters of one of her best friends and her best friend’s child.

This is a sweet, steamy historical fiction romance. The book touches on issues of grief, physical, sexual and mental abuse, and PTSD. There isn’t explicit descriptions of these triggers, and the author does a good job of focusing more on the path forward than the actual traumas.

A Guide to Being Just Friends by Sophie Sullivan

This is a cute contemporary romance between two hyper focused people intent on building their businesses, even to the detriment of their love lives. Hailey and her ex-boyfriend are over, but her dream of opening up a salad shop is not. Her launch is not what she thought it would be, but she’s decided to do everything she can to make it a success. She’s got good ideas, but limited experience in running a business.

Before long Lennox has Malcolm on a strict schedule and he’s making progress. But the gig does not come without problems. Bully cheerleader Melissa, who Malcolm had a one-night stand with, is jealous of Lennox and Malcolm spending time together. She and her minions set upon Lennox like the mean girls they are. How I’ll Kill You by Ren Destefano

What the heck did I just read??? I finished the book a few days ago and had to just sit with it for awhile before I could write my review. The book is a a fascinating mystery/thriller/romance that I couldn’t stop reading it.

Sissy is one of a set of identical triplets. They were abandoned when they were newborns and lived their youth in separate foster homes until they aged out. Fiercely protective of each other, once they were free of the system they were determined to never be separated again. No matter what. When Iris is hurt by her boyfriend and kills him in a fit of rage, Sissy steps in to clean up the scene and the triplets’ plan to love men and leave them….dead, is born.
