Caledonia Styx’s family ran a rogue ship that defied a corrupt warlord Aric Athair and his bloodthirsty army of young men called Bullets. As she and her best friend are on a remote island gathering supplies, Athair attacks her family’s ship and everyone onboard is killed.
The story picks up four years later and Caledonia is captain of her own ship with a crew of young girls and women that have suffered at the hands of Athair as well. Their goal is to cripple his fleet and get revenge for their loved ones. When Caledonia attacks one of his ships, her best friend is injured and captured. Just as she believes her friend lost in battle, she re-appears with one of the Bullets they had been fighting.
When Caledonia tries to kill the Bullet, her best friend stands in the way and argues for his life. Torn between her thirst for revenge and her best friend, Caledonia relents and holds him captive. Can this lone Bullet be the key to finally taking down Athair and achieving her ultimate revenge? Or will he be the downfall of her entire crew.
This was a really good book and a fun first book in the Seafire series. It ends on a dramatic cliffhanger that will leave you screaming for more! I can’t wait to read what happens next.
