An entertaining mystery/thriller.

This is a new series featuring Atlee Pine, a FBI special agent assigned to a remote area in the West near the Grand Canyon. In this first book Pine is tasked with investigating a missing person and mutilated mule at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. What initially appears to be a fairly straight-forward case turns into a sprawling conspiracy with deadly consequences. Add to that, Atlee’s terrifying past and it makes for a lot of action and intrigue.

This is another good book by the author. It’s your typical mystery thriller, with earnest characters, lots of action and plenty of twists and turns. It may be a bit formulaic, but I still liked it.
