A very good third book in a YA Fantasy series.
This is the third book in the Harbinger series. We pick up three years later with Sera being held prisoner in Lady Corinne’s home Pavenham Sky, shunned by society. Meanwhile Cettie has become an independent woman and is in charge of Lord Fitzroy’s estate.
The empire is at war with Kingfountain. Sera is finally summoned to see her father the emperor at Court because he wants her to marry a Prince of Kingfountain, which may end the war. Sera thinks about the proposition and decides she will consider doing it, provided she is given a chance to meet the Prince and decide if they can make a marriage work.
Cettie discovers she has the gift of sight, called a harbinger, and aids Fitzroy and the military in the war. With her assistance, the empire has been able to thwart most of Kingfountain’s assaults on them. But circumstances from her past come to light that rock her world and make her question everything about her life.
This is another great book in the series. There is plenty of action and intrigue. Lives are lost, hearts are broken and mysteries are unveiled. I can’t wait to see how this all ends.
