James Hunter-Savage is the perfect name for an enemy, and Lady Estelle Foxbrooke has despised him since she and her twin brother Henry were 13 and James relentlessly tormented Henry at Eton. If that wasn’t bad enough, James and Henry worked at the same company and James stole the biggest deal and client that Henry had. James is the devil. Beelzebub incarnate…..he’s, he’s, he’s, Estelle’s new business partner. What just happened?!
Estelle is done with her parent’s flighty ways and is determined to save the family estate with a successful music festival on their property. The company she obtained financing from was recently sold and lo and behold, James’ father bought it and put James in charge. He’s left London with his tail between his legs and a tattered reputation. James needs this festival to be successful just as much as Estelle. But can they work together to make that happen?
Let me just say, I LOVED Estelle and James. They are both unapologetically outspoken, cocky forces of nature and I am there for it. I loved that Estelle had the courage to be herself, even if her brashness and directness is off-putting to some. She’s not the shy retiring type and doesn’t need rescuing, thank you very much. I love that. I wish I could be that brave, even at my age. I also loved James. His larger than life smugness hides a caring, warm, heart that aches every time he’s misunderstood. I liked his character growth throughout the book, and his ability to be vulnerable with Estelle melted my heart. For her part, Estelle had just as far to grow to risk her heart too. No wonder I found myself smiling so much as I read the book.
The couple’s snarky banter and Estelle’s attempts to provoke an outburst from James were so adorable. I’ll never be able to look at unicorns or slippers the same. It goes without saying that the couple’s hot and steamy private time will take your breath away. Evie knows how to write great sexy-times! The book also has plenty of laugh out loud moments involving Estelle’s eccentric family, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out. This is book 3 in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. But really, you need to read the whole series – you won’t be disappointed!
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Book Sirens and the author. All opinions are my own.
