Rating: 4 out of 5.

Saint is the hockey bad boy of Orleans campus. He hits ’em and quits ’em, never kissing, cuddling, spending the night, or sleeping with the same girl twice. His life is hard and complicated and his sole focus is protecting his mother and making it to the NHL to give them both a better life. So the last thing he needs is a privileged do-gooder ice skater barging into his life and making him constantly think about what’s underneath that cute skirt.

Lennon has a privileged life and has always done what was expected of her. She’s sick of following the plans her father has laid out for her, especially taking back her cheating loser of an ex-boyfriend. She runs into Saint when they are forced to share ice time and even though she knows better, she has to admit, he’s a hot bad boy that gets under her skin. So, he’s the perfect guy to fake date to drive her parents crazy and force them to realize she’s living her life for herself from now on.

The chemistry between the couple is H.O.T. and who knew Lennon would be turned on so much by Saint’s dirty talk? Even though Saint initially agreed to fake date Lennon to get revenge on her father, he quickly discovers that he misjudged her and there is definitely more to her than her fancy clothes and seemingly perfect persona. Likewise, Lennon realizes that Saint is not some self-centered dumb cocky jock. It was heartbreaking to see how messed up Saint’s homelife was, and for a romcom, the book deals with some pretty tough issues. This gave the book depth and made it more heartwarming and special.

Lennon’s best friend Maise and Saint’s “boy group” hockey team added levity to the group and I hope they are the subject of future books in the series. I am definitely there for the next books.

I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Valentine PR. All opinions are my own.
