If you’ve been crushing on the “Target Santa”, you’re going to love this book. This is another book in the Christmas at Hideaway Harbor series and this time the story involves single mother Lumi who works in the small town’s post office and Saint, a globe-trotting toy mogul who crashes his fancy sports car just outside of town. Circumstances caused Lumi to stay in her small hometown although all she’s ever wanted was to see the world. Saint feels pressured by family expectations and wants to slow down and have something just for himself for a change, especially if it means having someone special in his life.
Saint’s car needs a lot of work and Lumi’s family owns the local repair shop. Because of the holidays, there are no hotel rooms available and due to a nosy town matchmaker, Lumi ends up letting Saint stay in her home until the car is repaired. Despite her determination to keep Saint at arms length, his warmth, kindness, and sexiness melts her defenses and before she knows it, they are going on dates, joking and teasing each other, and acting like a loving couple. While Saint is cagey about where he lives or what he actually does for a living, there are plenty of hints that he’s Santa Clause. If true, we know the duties that job entails, so you know his days in Hideaway Harbor are numbered.
As the countdown to Christmas approaches, Lumi and Saint fight their feelings and circumstances. They are both afraid to admit their feelings, even though they both yearn to be together. They are also both torn between what they want and their family obligations. How could they possibly make a relationship work?
I listened to this book and the narrators did a great job bringing the couple alive. The voices and inflections were so good they made me feel like I was listening to a friend tell me a story about their relationship. If you want a sweet and steamy read to get you in the holiday spirit, look no further than this book.
This is the third book in this series that I’ve read and each one of them has been a delight to read. The first three books The Holiday Hate-Off, The Holiday Fakers, and The Holiday Whoopie are already out and available on Kindle Unlimited. I encourage you to check them out. The Holiday Clause and The Holiday Grump come out on Nov. 18 and 21, respectively, and will probably be on KU too.
I received a complimentary ecopy and audio copy from The Author Agency. All opinions are my own.
