This is a cute, contemporary romance that takes place on set of a Bachelor-type dating show. Georgia Rose applied and was accepted to be on the reality dating show to write an exposé on the producers, who she suspects of doing horrible things for ratings. What she didn’t expect was to run into her unforgettable one-night stand from the year before, country singer Rhett Auburn, who was the Bachelor in the show the previous year. He’s the season’s new host, and if the producers find out she knows him, all her plans are out the window.

The couple agrees to keep things quiet, but there is no denying their chemistry and attraction. Georgia Rose dodges a savvy producer and back-stabbing contestants, while simultaneously faking her feelings for the actual Bachelor and suppressing her mixed feelings for Rhett. It’s a lot.

This book was pretty fun, except when reading about how contestants were manipulated just to get a strong reaction and cause chaos. There was plenty of drama and shade, and if you like dating reality shows, you will really enjoy this book. I felt for Georgia Rose upon seeing Rhett. He seemed like the perfect guy on the perfect night, until he wasn’t. The hurt and betrayal she felt was painful to read. I also understand her hesitance to trust him or anything he says since she did that once and was badly burned. I liked Rhett giving her space and not pushing too hard, as well as not giving up on her. I listened to this book and the narrator did a great job expressing the characters’ feelings and the humor, stress, and drama in the book.

I received a complimentary audio copy of this book from Macmillan Audio Early Listeners. All opinions are my own.
