Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is book 2 of the Blossom Peak series but can be read as a stand-alone. Henley is surprised by a one-night stand when she drops off a baby in his lap and walks away. It’s currently available on Kindle Unlimited.

This book has great tropes:

🤱surprise baby
👨‍🍼single dad & nanny
✨boss/employee
❤️mutual pining
✨grumpy/sunshine
❤️close proximity
✨small town

Henley has never wanted another night with a woman, let alone a relationship or a baby. Completely out of depth and in need of an instant nanny, he impulsively hires Elodie to be his live-in nanny. Elodie is only in town for four months and just wanted a simple job to tide her over until she gets the courage to face her parents after her failed career move to LA, but should took pity on Henley and accepted. It didn’t hurt that he was the hottest guy she’d seen in a long time.

Both main characters have issues in their pasts that makes a relationship the last thing they are looking for. But they can’t deny their instant attraction or the chemistry between them. But, there is a clock on their time together, so feelings can not get involved. Right? I liked the cute banter between the couple and how they support each other with the challenges they face. Henley had more depth than I thought he’d have, which I was relieved about because Elodie was such a sweetie she deserves a great guy. This book is sweet, funny, and heartwarming and a great second book in the series. I can’t wait to read the next one.

I listened to the duet audio of Connor Crais and Vanessa Edwin and they did such a fantastic job. The pacing, tone, and inflection of their voices drew me into the story and brought it to life. Their chemistry was evident in how they interacted together. I received a complimentary audio copy of this book from The Author Agency. All opinions are my own.
