I loved this book!!! It reminded me of one of my favorite SciFi shows, Farscape, and so I was hooked. Torian worked hard to afford to buy her own starship and captain her own ship. All she could afford was a tiny starship that had been abandoned for a century and was covered in moss. Torian got it running and to her surprise, the moss is an organic computer with a major attitude and abandonment issues. An immortal alien whose species was long thought to be extinct built it and forgot where he parked it. Thus begins Torian’s crazy ride.

This book was so cute! I loved the world the author built and look forward to learning more about it, all of the various alien characters, and the MC was awesome. She was cool, calm, and collected when faced with a problem and figured things out – regardless of how freaked out everyone was around her. I loved her will-she-or-won’t-she romance with Amelia and the other character’s relationships were so sweet to read.

Just when you think everything is figured out and safe, another emergency erupts. It was fun to see how creative the characters became to solve the problem. This is a very cozy book – light on the scifi and everything resolves rather simply, but I was so entertained I didn’t care. The book left off on a doozy of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I listened to the audio of this book and the narrators did a fantastic job bringing all of the characters to life. The snark and attitude of Moss was hilarious to listen to and the inflections were perfect. I hope the narrators do the next book in the series as well.

I received a complimentary audiobook from Macmillan Audio. All opinions are my own.
