The Lost for Words Bookshop: A Novel by Stephanie Butland

The lost for words

4 stars (release date June 19, 2018)

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. The writing is very engaging, the characters interesting and the story compelling. Loveday is a young woman with a painful past that works in a book shop and keeps to herself. She prefers books to people and tattoos the first line of her favorite books all over her body. When a magician/poet worms his way into her life and heart at the same time she receives three mysterious deliveries at the book shop, will Loveday finally confront her past and learn to move on?

This book is a quick read and hard to put down. I highly recommend you read it.

Song of Blood & Stone (Earthsinger Chronicles #1) by L. Penelope

song of blood and stone

3.5 stars

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good first book in this new series. There is minimal worldbuilding, but that’s pretty typical for a YA Fantasy book. The main characters are likeable and earnest. There is plenty of action and the storyline moves along at a decent pace. I recommend reading this book. Continue reading “Song of Blood & Stone (Earthsinger Chronicles #1) by L. Penelope” →

Nightblade's honor

4 stars

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great sequel to the first book in the series Nightblade’s Vengeance. The book starts off with a bang and doesn’t slow down. With the kingdom in chaos and on the brink of civil war, the nightblades must choose a side. After the events of the last book, the nightblades are out of favor with the citizens in the Kingdom. Nightblades are considered the enemies of the kingdom, are hunted by the lords and must go into hiding. Continue reading “Nightblade’s Honor (Blades of the Fallen #2) by Ryan Kirk” →

twenty one days

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good first book in a new series. The author has an older series that involves some of the same characters. I haven’t read those books, but didn’t feel like I missed too much for not having read them. This book is well-written and had likeable characters. Amber Sky (C.O.I.L.S of Copper and Brass, #1) by Claire Warner

amber sky

4 stars

I received a free copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this YA Fantasy dystopian book. It is similar to a lot of other books out there, but it’s still an enjoyable read. I will definitely read the next book in this series.

The nobility run the country and control the population by controlling the jobs they can work, the food they eat and their education. They also control the C.O.I.L.S. of Copper and Brass, which is rumored to have powers to control the amber sky and other elements.
