This is a fun, fast-paced contemporary mystery/thriller set during a 10 year college reunion at Duquette University. Jessica Miller has been planning her triumphant return to college after the death of her roommate Heather during her senior year. After Heather’s death, everything Jessica had planned for her life fell apart, including her dream graduate program, the friendship with her six best friends, and her dream boyfriend.

The Geek that Saved Christmas by Annabeth Albert

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This was a very cute, contemporary LGTBQIA Christmas story. Gideon Holiday lives in a idyllic neighborhood that decorates their homes each year to raise funds for charity. Every house, that is, except his grumpy, hot neighbor Paul Frost. Paul wants nothing to do with bow-tie wearing Gideon or the Christmas decorations that take over the neighborhood each December.

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute LGBTQIA contemporary romance involving a tech wizard that is cast as the bachelor on a dating reality show and one of the producers on the show. Charlie, the bachelor, is stiff, awkward and anxious and only agreed to be on the show to try to rehabilitate his image. Dev is the most successful producer on the show and always does a great job scripting the perfect happily ever after for his contestants, although he’s recently gone through a painful breakup with his long-time boyfriend and is dreading going back to work with him.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a cute, funny contemporary romance involving one gorgeous, impetuous Hollywood star and one short, stoic therapist hired to be his minder when he gets into a bar fight.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

3.5 stars

This was a good contemporary mystery/thriller about a woman that joined a dating app, met a boy, fell in love, trusted the boy, was ghosted by the boy, then discovered the boy’s dark secrets.

Five Strangers by E.V. Adamson

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This contemporary mystery/thriller intrigued me at the beginning, but sadly evolved into a hot mess that I had trouble finishing. It’s a beautiful Valentine’s Day in London. On Hampstead Heath people are enjoying the day until an aggressive argument between a man and woman turns into a murder/suicide. Five strangers that saw the incident and tried to intervene are forever bound by witnessing the violent act.

The Violent Season by Sara Walters

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is a very good mystery/thriller that is hard to put down. Wyatt lives in the small town of Wolf Ridge, Vermont and believes in the urban legend that every November the people of her town are overwhelmed by a hunger for violence. Too many people die in her small town die in that month, including her mother, who was brutally murdered last November.

The Orphan Witch by Paige Crutcher

Rating: 3 out of 5.

This was an interesting contemporary paranormal fantasy. Persephone May is an orphan and has been alone her whole life. She wants nothing more than to belong somewhere, but whenever she tries to forge bonds with other people, unexplainable things happen and she finds herself moving on again.
