I received a free sneak-peek of the first few chapters of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is an interesting and intriguing YA book. The story follows two main characters that have never met, but share a similar misfortune in falling for the wrong people.

Quiet, shy Elyse is cast as the lead in the school play. She is not used to the spotlight and her insecurities make her vulnerable. Gabe is dating a headstrong popular girl that treats him poorly. He tries to break up with her, but she’s having none of that. Just when the story was heating up, I ran out of chapters.

I’m definitely intrigued enough to want to read the rest of the book. I will complete this review once I do.

The Sisters were two asteroids that struck the earth and almost annihilated the entire world. For almost a century storms ravaged the earth, making survival barely possible. In England pockets of survivors eek out a living in small communities. Most modern technology has not survived and the remnants of resources that remained after the asteroid strike are nearly gone. As civilization tries to rebuild, different tyrants emerge and cause chaos. In a small area of the country two strong families are at war and hundreds of people die in the ensuing battles. The Rooster Bar by John Grisham

Meh. I usually like Grisham’s novels, but this one was not one of his best. I think perhaps the well is finally running dry. The book started ok, but quickly fizzled out. None of the characters were likeable, the plot and dialog was absurd and the story was not compelling. I really couldn’t believe this was a John Grisham book. The Lost for Words Bookshop: A Novel by Stephanie Butland

I really enjoyed this book. The writing is very engaging, the characters interesting and the story compelling. Loveday is a young woman with a painful past that works in a book shop and keeps to herself. She prefers books to people and tattoos the first line of her favorite books all over her body. When a magician/poet worms his way into her life and heart at the same time she receives three mysterious deliveries at the book shop, will Loveday finally confront her past and learn to move on?

This book is a quick read and hard to put down. I highly recommend you read it.

As they conquer ancient kingdoms to extend their rule, the Ben-Elim force humans into submission, promising peace in the land. Holy.Cow. Now that’s what I call a sequel!! This is the second book in the 4MK Thriller book series and it does not disappoint. If you haven’t read the first book The Fourth Monkey you need to read it now so that you’re ready when this book comes out in July. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

The Hate u Give

This is a really, really good book. Despite the page length, it’s a very quick read. The book keeps your attention and you won’t want to put it down. The writing style is conversational and you feel as if you’re a fly on the wall listening to the characters talking. So when they both come back from dangerous missions and are told that he is missing, they immediately take action to find him. Their search takes them to his small hometown in rural Colorado. The area is known for it’s beautiful outdoors with plenty of hunting and fishing, as well as several fringe anti-government groups. As Will and Jessica begin to dig into the mystery of Blue Man’s disappearance, they come into contact with several of these groups and once again put their lives in danger for their country.
