4 stars (release date August 21, 2018)
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a good, quick read. It has plenty of twists and turns and is an interesting story. Emily meets Adam and thinks he’s the perfect man. Soon after they meet they plunge head-long into a serious relationship. After only a few months they’ve moved in together. Everything is perfect – except Adam’s mother Pammie.
Pammie will stop at nothing to break Emily and Adam up. To Adam, Pammie is the perfect doting mother, but Emily sees her dark, manipulative side. How far will Pammie go to be rid of Emily?
The story was fast paced and I read it quickly. I liked the characters, although Emily grated on me a bit at times. She is smart and accomplished, and yet frets and doubts herself often. She is much too insecure and forgiving at times to be true to the character. Other than that, I liked this book and recommend you read it.
