This was a weird book. I don’t really know how to categorize it. The book is set during WWII and follows a group of men that crew a B-17 bomber. They are flying a mission over Germany when the plane is sucked into another dimension. The crew is stuck in a decaying world between two groups of last survivors. Their plane is confiscated by one group and the men are rescued by the other. Then there’s the problem of a huge machine guarding the portal that seems to be alive. The rest of the book covers the crew’s experience with this strange world and their attempt to recover their plane and return to the world they know. This book was much better than the 2nd book. It was a satisfying ending to the trilogy. In this book, the young seekers are scattered at the beginning of the book. Quin is rescued by a strange man named Dex after being stranded “there” by Shinobu, who has been captured by John’s grandmother Maggie. John, meanwhile, trains with the younger dread and begins to let go of the hate drilled into him by his mother and grandmother. He realizes that the Middle Dread’s actions to turn Seeker houses against each other is wrong and he sets off on a mission to rescue all of the lost Seekers. I bought this book on its release date while attending a book reading by the author. I put off reading the book because I just didn’t want this series to end. Of course, now I know that the series will continue with the new book Iron Gold, which will be released in January 2018. Another great book in the Throne of Glass series. I must admit, however, that I was taken aback when I got to the ending. I really thought this was the end of the series, but NO. This was an interesting re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. With Dragons. And gryphons. And direwolves. What?! Weird as it sounds, it works pretty well. The book is a fun, fluffy escape and a quick read. Anyone that enjoys P&P and Fantasy will enjoy it.

This is a hard book to rate. In 1990 Nora is a teenager in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. She makes a mistake and her brother is forced to join the rebellion and is killed. She then joins the IRA to fight for her country’s freedom. Next thing we know its 10 years later and Nora is working for an aid agency in Sudan. She begins to have vivid dreams of a man she’s never met. When she travels back to Ireland to attend a funeral, she is drawn to Kildare to find out more about him. She is given a relic of Brigid of Kildare and told that she must travel back in time to find the mystery man. She is transported to Ireland in 1923 in the midst of the civil war. She finds the mystery man and learns that she must help him and also help try to win the war so that all of Ireland is united and free. I really enjoyed this book. It tells the story of Samuel Hawley and his daughter Loo. Samuel Hawley is not a good man. He’s a thief and a killer and he’s led a dangerous and deadly life. When he meets Lily after a job goes bad, he finds something he never thought he’d have – love. He tries to go straight but when Lily gets pregnant he needs to go back to his old ways to support his new family. This is the second book in the Kingfountain series. The story picks up 1o years later. Owen is the Duke of Westmarch and is about to embark on his first real battle. His long time friend, Evie, is awaiting word of the battle at her home in the North. Owen’s first battle is a huge success and King Severn bestows several honors upon him – as well as challenges to his loyalty. Upon his return to Kingfountain, Owen learns that a new poisoner, Etayne, has taken up residence in Ankarette’s tower. She was sent to Pisan to be trained by the King’s head of the Espian, Mancini.
