Lethal White (Cormoran Strike #4) by Robert Galbraith

Lethal White

3.5 stars

I really enjoy this book series, but this was my least favorite book so far. The story starts out with a young man named Billy visiting Strike at his office. The man clearly has mental health issues, with paranoid delusions. He insists that when he was a young child he witnessed another child being killed near his home. His story is disjointed and incomplete. Before Strike can find out more, Billy dashes out of Strike’s office. Continue reading “Lethal White (Cormoran Strike #4) by Robert Galbraith”

Burning Ridge (Timber Creek K-9 Mystery #4) by Margaret Mizushima

Burning Ridge

4 stars

This is another great book in the Timber Creek K-9 Mystery series. The author delves deeper into Mattie’s relationship with veterinarian Cole and others in her community, but there is still plenty of action and mystery to keep the reader interested. Continue reading “Burning Ridge (Timber Creek K-9 Mystery #4) by Margaret Mizushima”

Tear Me Apart by J.T. Ellison

tear me apart

4 stars

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book from this author! It is a quick and easy read with plenty of suspense and twists and turns to keep you turning the pages until the very end. The story is compelling and the characters are interesting. Even when you think you’ve figured the mystery out, you’re not quite sure you know the truth. Continue reading “Tear Me Apart by J.T. Ellison”

The Fallen (Amos Decker #4) by David Baldacci

the fallen (baldacci)

Another great Amos Decker novel. This time Amos and his partner Alex are visiting Alex’s sister in a small, dying town called Baronville. Her sister moved there because her husband got a job in the new fulfillment center in town. The town’s economy is crumbling and it has a rampant opioid addiction problem. This was a good, quick read. It has plenty of twists and turns and is an interesting story. Emily meets Adam and thinks he’s the perfect man. Soon after they meet they plunge head-long into a serious relationship. After only a few months they’ve moved in together. Everything is perfect – except Adam’s mother Pammie. The fifth the die

Holy.Cow. Now that’s what I call a sequel!! This is the second book in the 4MK Thriller book series and it does not disappoint. If you haven’t read the first book The Fourth Monkey you need to read it now so that you’re ready when this book comes out in July. These are some of the best thriller/mystery books I’ve read in the last year. Continue reading “The Fifth To Die (4MK Thriller #2) by J.D. Barker”

Twenty-One Days (Daniel Pitt, #1) by Anne Perry

twenty one days

4 stars

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good first book in a new series. The author has an older series that involves some of the same characters. I haven’t read those books, but didn’t feel like I missed too much for not having read them. This book is well-written and had likeable characters. Continue reading “Twenty-One Days (Daniel Pitt, #1) by Anne Perry”

The Wanted (Elvis Cole #17) by Robert Crais

the wanted

This is another good Elvis Cole and Joe Pike novel. Elvis is hired by a single mother to look into cash and jewelry that her teenage son Tyson has in his possession. She suspects that he’s dealing drugs and wants Elvis to intervene. Elvis thinks the case will be easy and only take a couple hours to resolve. What he discovers is that Tyson has two partners and is responsible for a string of high-profile, high-end burglaries.
