I love this book! It is so cute and Hayes and Catherine are the perfect couple. Their witty banter had me smiling throughout. The side characters that work at the ranch, Hallie, Mason, and Levi, cracked me up and added even more levity to the story. Their conspiracy to get this couple to a HEA was perfect.

Hayes Wilder attends his grandfather’s funeral and afterwards learns he left Hayes his fortune and sprawling estate. The hitch – Hayes must be married to inherit or it all goes to his horrid half-brother Lewis who wants to sell off the estate piece by piece. Enter Catherine. She and Hayes knew each other as kids, but he’s 10 years older and they never really hung out together. Catherine’s mother recently died and left her with a mountain of medical debt. Catherine left her job to care for her mother so until she finds work, has no way to pay it. Hayes offers her a deal – marry him so he can inherit the estate and he’ll pay off her mother’s debt. After some misgivings, Catherine agrees to the deal. Once Hayes fights off Lewis attempts to take the estate away from him, Hayes and Catherine will get an annulment.

The couple is so cute. It was fun seeing them learn things about each other. Their relationship was smooth and respectful and thoughtful. They were adults, and I loved reading a fun romance about adults acting like adults. They both had to get out of their comfort zones a bit to accommodate the other, but found they didn’t mind doing so. I liked how they encouraged each other to go for what they wanted and were honest about their feelings.

I liked the disability rep and the way Hayes explained it to Catherine. Her respect and understanding of what he needed to help deal with it was wonderful. They are both dealing with grief, and the author did a great job showing how grief oftentimes comes in waves, catching a person off guard. Loved ones can be remembered in many ways, and I loved how the couple saw them in so many different things around the estate.

This book had me hooked from the start and I lost a lot of sleep reading it. I was so grumpy when I had to put it down and go to bed! I highly recommend you read this book! It’s the first in a series and I can’t wait to read the next book and see who falls in love.
